The scenario: you're a speaker in a session or room and you've clicked the button to "Go on Stage", but no one can see you - or you're concerned that your video might not be working at all. There are a number of reasons this might be the case. Below are a few steps to try in order to get up and running.
Refresh your browser. If this doesn't help, try restarting the browser completely. For best performance on Konf, we recommend using Chrome - so if you're having problems with another browser, try using Chrome and see if that solves the issue.
Grant Chrome webcam permissions. The first time you use your webcam with Chrome, you may be asked to give permission for the browser to use your camera. As this may have been denied in the past, you may need to manually enable permissions. You can find our guide on how to do this here.
Ensure your webcam is working correctly. Whether you're using your computer's built-in webcam or an external device, we suggest opening another app that uses the camera (for example Photo Booth on macOS, or a video communication app such as Zoom or Skype) to check whether it works properly on other platforms. If you're using an external webcam, try disconnecting and reconnecting the device.
Turn off your corporate network or VPN. External networks can stop Konf working properly. For more information, see our guide to this issue here.
Restart your device. If all else fails - a hard reset can often be the solution!
