The scenario: you're on stage in a session or room, and you're talking, but no one can hear you. If you can't hear anyone else; that might be another issue - try our "I can't hear anything" article - but if you suspect it might be your audio having problems, there are a number of reasons this might be the case. Below are a few steps to try in order to get up and running.
Note: if you can be heard but you're getting echo or feedback, try the steps in this article first.
Refresh your browser. If this doesn't help, try restarting the browser completely. For best performance on Konf, we recommend using Chrome - so if you're having problems with another browser, try using Chrome and see if that solves the issue.
Grant Chrome microphone permissions. The first time you use your microphone with Chrome, you may be asked to give permission for the browser to use it. As this may have been denied in the past, you may need to manually enable permissions. You can find our guide on how to do this for your mic and camera here.
Ensure your microphone is working correctly. Whether you're using your computer's built-in microphone or an external device, we suggest opening another app that uses the microphone (for example Zoom, or Skype) to check whether it works properly on other platforms. If you're using an external microphone, try disconnecting and reconnecting the device.
Turn off your corporate network or VPN. External networks can stop Konf working properly. For more information, see our guide to this issue here.
Restart your device. If all else fails - a hard reset can often be the solution!
If none of the above have resolved your audio issue, please use the Intercom live chat icon at the bottom of your screen to get in touch with our support team and we'll try to help further.
